70 Plymouth GTX
Plymouth GTX clone race car runs mid to upper 11's at the strip. Sub 12-second times requires the addition of roll bar. We're also relocating the springs, adding frame connectors and doing a "mini-tub" to help the owner fit larger tires. These mods in addition to additional engine work should help the car see some 10's.
2x3 frame connectors are welded to the MP spring mounts , passed thru the rear frame rail and extended up against the front crossmember. This style of connector protrudes through the floor of the car which is notched and welded to the connectors.
All parts are painted or powdercoated depending on
size and color. Underside (and trunk if desired) are
re-undercoated.
This GTX is now stuffed with 31.0/13.0 MT tires
mounted on 15x12 Weld wheels. The lower fronts
of the wheel wells were opened up about an inch
and refinished to allow more tire clearance.
Tire clearance to the inside and out is very nice.
The rear end is actually a stock-width A-body 8 3/4 unit with race axles.
